A Blur
This picture is a little blurry.
That's kind of how everything feels lately, as if everything is happening at once, too fast, and there's not quite enough room in the space-time continuum to fit it all in.
All summer we've been looking forward to Erin and Erik's wedding taking place at the end of summer, and now here we are two days before their wedding day. Geoff went to Erik's bachelor party last night, got home around 1:30, and still managed to get up at quarter to 7 to take charge of Katie.
Every evening after work I think about the things I will do that evening or over the course of the coming weekend, or before the next big event (the next big event concerning the apartment is September 1st, when Geoff's sister Stephanie arrives to spend two weeks visiting us). And then the end of the evening comes, and hardly anything has been done. There are still a few dirty dishes or a few loads of laundry or a few dust bunnies or a few too many Katie toys scattered around. We plan to get additional things done on the weekends - trips to Target or Babies R Us, or photo shoots at the beach, or visiting with friends, or doing the "extra" housecleaning - things like dusting off the baseboards or wiping down the coffeemaker - things that don't need to be done every week, but that eventually get gross. Out of all the things we plan to do, we're lucky if we do half.
I started cross-stitching a Christmas stocking for Katie toward the beginning of this month, and at first I had hoped to finish it by this Christmas. But now I'm thinking I should just give myself a break, and make my goal Christmas 2005.
That will be the first Christmas where Katie will be old enough to even have any idea of what a Christmas stocking is anyway, right?

Your daughter gets more beautiful every day!
It is high time for some more pictures. I am in chubby cheek withdrawal.
